HERE'S TO YOURS!
hello everybody ..... it's been a long time since i've logged in to this site.
i wanted to say hello to all.
i am doing very good.
Steve,
So good to hear from you. That is one whopper of a course load. Good luck in school.
So glad you made it out with Donny and your family.
PS - Still working on my family. My sister, bil and the kids are just about done. My dad has come a long way. If I can just get my brothers and mom out, I will be one of the happiest people on the face of the earth.
in case you don't see me here, i thought you should know that i am done here!
why??
because i'm going on a cruise to bermuda tomorrow for a week and i will be fondly thinking of each and every one of you while i bask on the beaches and enjoy the weather.. bye..
Enjoy Min
they were married for some 51 years.
you cannot stand up against them in battle.
you cannot stand up against him in battle.
At this point, there was a pause as all stood and sang Song 86 “Faithful Women.”
That is soooo weird.
jw leadership shows an appalling lack of creativty and originality.. -- meeting attendance down across the board?
let's keep the same 1940's format anyway!.
-- missionaries quitting their assignments?
I remember years back when one of the major contributors to the YPA articles/Awake died of cancer. Word going around Bethel was that there was no one qualified to write the articles. They were at a stump to add someone on that writing committee.
I was like, seriously? There's no one left to write that crap? That's how WT works. They are so into personalities and status quo. It is a very limited religion. No other explanation for how it all works... except that it's a cult.
my wife's family have been jws for generations.
we all know that the watchtower had crazy ideas about health early on and were usually at odds with the medical community.
so it's no surprise that my in-laws are big on non-traditional ways of treating ailments.. but for years now the society has printed articles and preached in assembly talks against applied kinesiology, or muscle testing.
Well, some alternative practises are loopy. But not all. The witnesses I know who are into the remedies have a host of unexplained illnesses. Depression, anxiety, psychosomatic illnesses, etc. When they go to their regular docs and nothing is discovered to be wrong, they search for other forms of healing.
Not realizing that the problem is their JW lifestyle.
i'll keep this brief for now.. long time lurker (4 years or so).. born-in, elder, used on district level (last talk i gave before i left was the baptisimal talk), and lots of hard time put in...before i finally made the move to split.
it's a long stoy, much like many of yours...but with it's own little interesting twists.
more details in the future, perhaps.. as i said, ive lurked here for a while.. its funny: for a long time i'd only come on late at night.
Howdy!
have been a member of jwr since 2008 and have not been to hall since june 2009, have celebrated 2 yrs without memorial - woohoo - that being said i have stopped by here frequently and decided yesterday to join your group.. it has been very enjoyable to read your stories as well as the other group i have been with, and so it just seemed reasonable to belong to both.. my story is no differant than all the others, the only thing is i was not born in.
that being said i also have no real issues with being an apostate (although i do believe it is used in the perjorative sense by the wt).. peace - brad.
What's up Brad? Welcome
tuesday, october 4. offer your very selves to him: a living sacrifice, dedicated and fit for his acceptance.rom.
12:1, the new english bible.. before someone who is alienated from god can become a member of gods family of approved servants, he first needs to make a solemn promise to jehovah.
to understand why, imagine a respectable father who shows kind interest in an orphaned youth and wishes to adopt him as a member of his own family.
Only if the youth is willing to make a solemn promise will the man admit him into his family. Is that not reasonable?
Oh, the solemn promise. Well that solves everything, doesn't it? No WT, it's not reasonable. That's ridiculous.
